Private Evaluations

  • A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation will include a thorough clinical interview with parents, and testing to examine cognition, memory, academic achievement, fine motor, language, phonological processing, social-emotional functioning and behavior, personality, and attention and executive functioning, with a special focus on how these factors impact learning and school performance, and overall daily functioning.

All evaluations are tailored to your referral questions and specific needs.

Evaluations can lead to DSM-5 diagnoses of Autism, ADHD, learning disorders in reading, math, and writing (i.e. dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia), anxiety, and/or depression. Following the evaluation, a thorough written report with recommendations will be presented to you at the final feedback session.

  • Autism evaluations require specialized assessments, including the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and/or the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum (MIGDAS-2). A comprehensive clinical interview with focus on developmental history is completed with parents. This evaluation also uses targeted norm-referenced rating scales/questionnaires that assess related symptoms, including social language and sensory processing.

Following the evaluation, a thorough written report with recommendations will be presented to you at the final feedback session.

  • An assessment of giftedness will determine if an individual is cognitively and/or academically gifted. This can be particularly useful in planning services at school and understanding learning needs, strengths, and weaknesses. This type of evaluation would include interviews with parent and/or client, and administration of IQ and academic tests. Additional assessment of social-emotional functioning may also be incorporated. A feedback session and comprehensive written report will follow.

  • This type of evaluation involves a clinical interview with parents, including a through developmental and medical history review. Testing will assess IQ and adaptive behavior skills to understand how the child learns, solve problems, and manages everyday life tasks.

For a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability, both significantly below-average intellectual functioning and deficits in adaptive behavior must be present. If criteria are met, the psychologist will provide a clear explanation and tailored recommendations for educational planning (IEP), therapies (e.g. speech, OT, PT, behavior support), and home strategies to build independence.

  • If you were you once diagnosed with a disability but need or want updated documentation, we can help. Or, you may suspect that you have a learning disability or ADHD and are seeking answers as well as possible school and/or testing accommodations (e.g. extra time on tests). The assessments would include a combination of clinical interviews, cognitive assessment, academic assessment, tests of attention and executive functioning, and social-emotional/behavior functioning. A written report with recommendations will be presented at the final feedback meeting.
